a place to call my own...

You may not know it, but I don't have a decorative bone in my body. I have the ideas and pictures in my head of how I want things to look in my home, but when it comes to actually following through with the idea, I epically fail.

When we moved into our house, (July the 3rd, THREE DAYS BEFORE my little one was born) I, needless to say, was not focused on making my bedroom homey, but more just wanting to get it all in, somewhat organized, and go to sleep. After MG was born, before our housewarming, I spruced my room up a little bit, bought new bed covers, etc. (Kim is AMAZING and the other parts of the house already looked fantastic) I thought it was ok, but knew my bedroom needed some work.

For my birthday/christmas, Kim decided to give me a new and improved bedroom! I was so excited. Yesterday, she finished it and I could not have pictured it any more perfect. She filled my walls with Molly Grace and made my room look like an actual bedroom, not just some place I only want to go in when I am asleep.

I adore it.

I hope you do too.

Thank you Kim for being the best roomie, friend, cousin, person.

From Our House to Yours...

So I am pretty much obsessed with Picasa 3. It is so user friendly.

I decided that I would make my own Christmas cards using the Picasa collage maker, so instead of paying .75 a piece for them, I am getting them FREE at CVS because if you open a photo account with CVS.com, they give you 50 free prints. I think they turned out just as cute as any other card I could have had pre-made. What do you think?

I have to be thrifty these days. If you would like one of these beautiful cards featuring my beautiful Molly Grace...leave me your address and a sweet comment :)

If you can't already tell, I'm pretty much obsessed with these pictures of her too!

ION: The only Chick-fil-A close to me is about 25 minutes away, and while worth the drive, I never make it there because I am usually too tired to drive out of my way. BUT! I just found out today a new Chick-fil-A is opening off 316 and I could not be more excited. yay! I'll definitely be "Eating more Chicken"!

Molly Grace is 5 months...wait, really?

So my little bear turned 5 months old on the 6th of December! I can't believe she is so close to 6 months! She is rolling over all the way now, and can almost sit up by herself! She is such a big little girl!

I took a few pictures with my new camera to document the moment! I feel like a failure as a parent because while I do have a million pictures of the bear, I don't have specific "month" pictures. So this month, I made a sign to put with Molly Grace, you'll have to see how it turned out in the photos. She is a mess. But I love every bit of her.

Also, a friend of Kim's, Anna Sanders, took some pics of little Miss Molly Grace on her 4 month birthday and she and her husband own a photography business called
Big Cow Studios. Click the link to see the pics of Molly Grace!! They did such an AMAZING job. I HIGHLY recommend them if you are looking for professionals. They live in the Cumming/Gainseville area!

I give you a preview of a few of the pictures! They are AMAZING.

So, Molly Grace is 5 months old. I am so blessed. SO SO BLESSED.

Santa Claus is coming to town...

This past weekend Molly Grace and I went to Woodstock with Amy and Sarah to visit the newlyweds! We had a alot of fun with them and I was soo excited because on Saturday we took Molly Grace to meet Santa. I was so nervous about how she was going to do, most babies at her age that I have seen have just cried and cried and been so afraid of Santa, so I was scared that I was going to have to pay for a bad Santa pic and they are not cheap!! We waited in line for about 1 hour. It would have been less but one of the mothers in line took the amount of time I stood in line to decide which picture she wanted of each of her 5 children. I mean, really lady, could you not see the people in line behind you?? MG was a little fussy in line, and then passed out, so I had to wake her up when we got to the front of the line, but surprisingly she woke up and was happy as a lark! (gotta give the credit to the power nap!) I sat her in Santa's lap and she smiled and smiled and I got the greatest picture. I think it should win an award for how amazing it is. Enjoy the pics!!

waiting in line...this is what I thought she would look like with Santa, looks like she is more terrified of me than Santa! (or this was pre-nap and the child fights sleep like nobody I know)

totally fell asleep because it took so long!

checking Santa out

wait for it.....

EVER!!!

i mean, does it get any cuter than this?!!?!?!
my sweet baby girl's first christmas photo with Santa!

I also got the best advice from a mom in line. She said that before she took her daughter to see Santa the second time when she was a little over one, she showed her daughter the picture of her with Santa from when she was an infant and told her that she had already met Santa and they were friends! Great Idea! Sure enough when she saw Santa she was so excited and took the cutest, sweetest picture! Loved the advice, I'm going to try this with MG next year so I thought I would pass it on!

LOVE! and Merry Christmas!

Thanksgiving, Black Friday, MY BIRTHDAY!

It's been too long since I blogged. I all backed up with the adventures that MG and I have had.

MG's first thanksgiving was good. We spent the morning with my mom and my mom's family and Amy, and then drove to Rome to spend some QT with Luke and then we drove to Cave Spring to see the lovely Bryant family. Molly Grace got to meet Nash, and he is so cute and he has a head full of beautiful hair! He is so precious. (Nash is Anna and Sarah's nephew)

Then came Black Friday. No, I don't shop on Black Fridat. I hate the mall and shopping when it is uber crowded so I spent Black Friday in Cave Spring in the morning and then drove back home. Kim (cousin, roomie) had planned a birthday dinner for me that night at the Kani House in Buford (near the Mall of GA), so I was excited to spend the night before my birthday with my favs (minus Meg and Dusty, who were still in Jamaica). It was so much fun. I never get to eat Hibachi and it was amazing. Among those in attendance were in no particular order: Amy, Cohan, Mom, Molly Grace, Kim, Jessica (cousin and Kim's sister), Daniel (Dusty's friend from HS, one of the groomsmen in the wedding, who is now my "friend" too), Anna, Sarah, and Ross! Little did I know the plans they had in store for me. While we were at the restuarant everyone kept syaing "sorry i can't come back to your house and hang out", followed by some excuse, which I totally bought. I already felt bad that everyone had had to drive so far to celebrate my bday with me so I just went with whatever they said. On the way back to my house after dinner, we stopped at Walgreen's because Kim needed something and as we were pulling in, Mom, Amy, and Jessica were pulling out of, which I noticed, but didn't think twice about it. It literally took Kim and Daniel 20 minutes inside Walgreen's and I again thought nothing of it. When we got home, Daniel was driving my car so we pulled into the garage and I wondered why because I needed to take him back to his house (he is in the Air Force and works on a base in Idaho and was flying back to Boise early the next morning). Kim told me to get Molly out of the car and then I walked into the house and they all jumped out and surprised me!! I was definitely surprised and very very appreciative to Kim for orchestrating the whole thing and grateful to everyone that came! It made me feel super loved and I had a great time!

(see the rest of these photos at my facebook page!! album name: 24!)

On the 28th (my actual birthday), Anna, Sarah, Amy, Cohan, Ross, Kim, Molly Grace and I all had a yummy breakfast meal with pancakes, eggs, bacon, and sausage! We also took MG to pick out her first Christmas tree and we got some yummy chick-fil-a for lunch! That night we all watched Georgia beat Georgia Tech (GOOOOOOO DAWGS!!)! All in all, it was an amazing birthday!

We decorated the tree, and all I have left to do now is find the perfect stockings for MG and I and make my wreath (when will I ever have time), also need to christmas shop (with all the $$ i have, not!)

BUT, as busy as I am, I do love Christmas, the music, the way our tree smells, family together, etc. I will especially love this Christmas, as it will be MG's first! Keep looking for the bears first visit to see Santa!

LOVE!
