i'm already getting nervous...

As you can see in the ticker above, Molly Grace is 10 months, 2 weeks, and 4 days old and in those 10 months, 2 weeks, and 4 days, I have never stayed a night away from her.

That's about to change.
This weekend I am in a wedding for my very first roommate in college, Teddi.

me and teddi circa 2004, freshman year at UGA

me and teddi circa 2009, at my cousin David's wedding

While I am excited about her wedding this weekend (on the beach!!) at Tybee Island, I am dreading leaving.

Why?

I'm spending 2 nights away from my girl for the first time.

I know it will be a nice break, but literally typing this and thinking about leaving her Friday morning makes me more nervous than I was watching last week's season finale of Grey's Anatomy. (and you should have seen me last Thursday night!)

Molly Grace will be staying with Kim, my wonderful cousin and roommate, so I know she will be in good hands, but I really am sad that I will be leaving her for 2 whole days and nights.

If anyone has any tips on making it easier to leave your child for the first time, let me know.

I feel like I sound silly be nervous to leave her and have a little mommy break, but for some reason, I feel like a bad mother for not being able to bring her with me. (There will be no one to watch her while I perform wedding duties as a bridesmaid)

If you are the praying kind, please remember us this weekend.

lots of things going on

I haven't been very good at blogging lately.
I promise we are taking MG's 10 month pictures tonight so be expecting some picture updates soon.
She is taking off walking y'all. She just needs a little more confidence in herself.
I seriosuly need some money. Anyone got any suggestions on how I can make some?!
Things are stressful on this end, but I know my God will provide.

Matthew 6:25-34
The Cure for Anxiety
25 "This is why I tell you: Don't worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the sky: they don't sow or reap or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you worth more than they? 27 Can any of you add a single cubit to his height by worrying? 28 And why do you worry about clothes? Learn how the wildflowers of the field grow: they don't labor or spin thread. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was adorned like one of these! 30 If that's how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and thrown into the furnace tomorrow, won't He do much more for you—you of little faith? 31 So don't worry, saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear?' For the idolaters eagerly seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you. 34 Therefore don't worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

I will pray these verses over our lives.

We have been super busy.

That's all for now!

10 months

I've been putting off writing MG's 10 month update because we have been so busy we have had no time to take her 10 month pictures.

I decided that since she has now been 10 months for a week, it's time to update, so bear with me as I have no pictures. I'm relying solely on my words, hoepfully you'll forgive me. :)

What the little bear has been up to:

Well, you know how I've been saying that she is so close to walking?! Well, now she is even closer! Last Thursday, on her 10 month "birthday" she took her first step!! I was in awe. It was the funniest thing. She stood up, looked over at me, gave me the biggest grin and giggle and then stepped her right foot out in front of her, looked at me and smiled real big, and stepped her left foot out to her right and let out the biggest squeal and then just sat down. She didn't fall, she just sat. It was if she was saying I just want you to know that I can do it, even though I'm not going to do it all the time. It definitely surprised me. I was just thinking that same day on the way to pick her up that it would probably be awhile before she took her first step because she has been crawling for so long and is so good (and fast!) at it! I had read someone's blog about their baby walking and that baby waited until 10 months to crawl and then walking shortly followed. I had convinced myself that since MG had become a master crawler at 6 months that she would just stick with it. Boy did she prove me wrong. MG, I won't doubt your ability anymore!! She didn't take another step until last night in which she took almost FIVE steps! Leading me to a saying that us mommies say so often, "they just grow so fast!" She has definitely chosen to keep crawling as her method of transportation to one thing she can't have to another, but she is definitely practicing her walking skills and I couldn't be prouder.

On to the pretty much the cutest thing she has ever done to date...she learned how to wave. Y'all it is so darn cute. She waves and says "bye bye". Its adorable. for real. Hopefully soon I will catch it on video. Every time I get the camera out she totally shuts down and I can't get her to do anything! I'm going to have to set up a hidden camera to catch her in the action of walking and talking!

She has started to eat a little table food. It is definitely going to be a challenge for me with the transition from baby food to table food, being that I don't cook that often or eat very healthy. Luckily for me, she eats just about anything you put in front of her! I'm going to work on cooking more and eating better. I just know you guys reading this want to send me some of your fabulous and easy receipes right?!?

She got her 8th tooth. She has so many teeth. I feel so blessed that teething hasn't been to terribly awful for me and MG. She pretty much just gets super clingy and won't sleep by herself, which I don't mind, any excuse to cuddle with my bear girl!

The most annoying endearing thing she has started doing is throwing stuff. She will take out her pacifier (even when she wants it!) and throw it on the ground then pitch a fit for me to pick it up. It was cute the first couple of times, now, not so much, though I still love her just as much! The most dramatic example of this new hobby she's picked up occurred when we took a boat out on Lake Lanier last weekend. She decided she wanted to throw her pacifier out the boat while I was holding her. Yeah, that pacifier is never coming back. She then proceeded to throw a FULL bottle of Dr. Pepper out the boat. Doesn't she know Dr. Pepper is like crack to me?! Nevertheless, we all got a kick out of it.

The sweetest thing she has learned how to do is give kisses. It melts me everytime y'all. She gives the best slobbery, open mouth kisses! She is a mess but I love every minute I spend with her.

More of what she is up to:
She loves drinking out a straw, she loves bath time, she won't watch Baby Einstein (she can't sit still that long!), she loves her big pink ball I got her and chases it around the house, she loves trying to put things back together and put things inside of other things, she doesn't like cold water, she loves smiling, and she loves her Mom and I love her too.

I promise to have pictures soon. I can't believe in 2 months we will be celebrating her first birthday!

A Play Date!

Last Friday, Molly Grace and I had the pleasure of visiting with one of my friends from high school, Jessica Hall and her precious son, Mason. Jessica was so kind to open her home to MG and I. She cooked the most amazing dinner, even though Molly Grace decided that in fact the food on Mommy's plate was for her, not for Mommy!

Jessica and I graduated from good ole Model High School in 2004. We had some good times in those days, including but not limited to, two proms, a trip to Gulf Shores, and a trip to "The Farm" that her husband Adam loves to bring up every time I see him. We'll leave "the farm" at that, since that memory is not my best moment!

Mason was born in September, just two months after Miss MG. He is such a happy and healthy boy! He is seriously one of the cutest babies I have ever seen! Along with his good looks, he has a sweet little personality! He let me hold him for so long. I am not used to this because MG will only let a select number of people hold her. It breaks my heart because a majority of the people I love live far away and when they get to see her, she will not let them hold her!
Mason had just woken up from a nap when we arrived and so he wasn't quite as excited to play as MG was. She made her self at home quickly amongst all of Mason's toys. As soon as Mason had his bottle, he was ready to go. Y'all he is cute!
Thank you Jessica for the most amazing dinner, great company, and for still being my friend over all these years!!

It is so nice to have mother's my age to talk about babies with. I am pretty much the only person in my friend group that has a baby and while I have some of the greatest friends, if you aren't a parent or don't spend a lot of time around babies, it is hard to really understand what it is like to be a new parent!! Talking to Jessica about our babes made me realize that I am not crazy and that someone does think about the same things I do and is going through the same things as me!!

Y'all can read more about Jessica and handsome little Mason here!
Here are some pictures I captured of the two little rascals. How cute are they??

"hey mom, i want that camera!"

"I mean, seriously y'all, how cute is he?"

Look at all his hair!! I am in ♥ with him.

"for real, mom, i want the camera!"

Molly Grace would like to have more play dates!! Who wants to be next? :)

something new (to me!)

I got my Murano...as my Aunt Beth said, "you officially have a Mommy car!"

I'm loving the room and space!
