29 weeks!

10 more to go!!

This week has been pretty good....

As many of you know, I am the Program Specialist for the Healthy Grandparents program here in Athens and we have interns that help us during the year with case management, I myself was an Intern last year and that is how I got this job! Well, Tuesday the coordinator, Paige and I, took them to lunch as a celebratory end of the year thank you and then we came back to the main office to give them presents that we had made them and they had thrown me a surprise baby shower!! It was so nice! Here are some pics from the shin dig...these are the ones from my phone, I have more from my camera which I will add later!

the plates and the cups match MG's baby bedding! how sweet :)

the cake!

they all decorated onesies for her! and they turned out adorably! this is the one paige made!

we also played the "guess what chocolate is in the diaper game" and the "guess how big my belly is with yarn" game, lol, i have pictures of those on my camera! I'm not exactly sure if that is what the games are officially called, but oh well!

I got some diapers, wipes, baby wash, a dress for MG, and a prenatal massage for me! The interns were soooo nice to do this for me and I was completely surprised!

Also, tomorrow is my baby shower that my cousin Kimberly and Jana are throwing for me at my grandmother's house! I'm soooo excited to see everyone!

I also got a new office chair at work this week! Who knew how excited I would get over a new office chair? lol!

Last night, Amy and I traveled to Atlanta for a braves game! I had alot of fun but I feel like everywhere I go people are staring at me, I can't wait for Molly Grace to get her so they can stare at her and how beautiful she is and not how big I am!

I think thats all for now! Here's a little insight into whats going on with Molly Grace in her 29th week....
Having a baby prematurely is frightening, no doubt. But here's a reason to relax: Due to the impressive advancements of medical technology, if your baby is born this week, she'd have a 9 out of 10 chance of survival, which is seriously great news. Other awesome developments:

Baby's brain can now control her breathing and body temperature. She can also cough, and her sucking abilities have been perfected. Look out, boobs!

Your Mini's skin is looking less wrinkled as she packs on the pounds. She's starting to look more like a Pampers model and less like a Depends model. She's now beefing up on the energizing and insulating white fat she'll be born with (unfortunately, white fat is not energizing and insulating for adults!).

And speaking of energy, your little Energizer Bunny is on fire these days. You're sure to feel your share of kicks, punches and elbows, especially when you're lying down. You might want to start keeping a kick chart to monitor your baby's movements, and also to later show your 13-year-old child what you endured for him or her. Ask your doctor how to count kicks and how often you should do it.

This week your baby is a little over 15 inches long—about the length of a loaf of bread—and weighs about 3 pounds, as much as a Macbook Air laptop. (from http://3dpregnancy.parentsconnect.com/calendar/29-weeks-pregnant.html)

Thats all for now!

my baby bump in all its glory

This weekend the weather was EXACTLY the way I love it!

so I decided to let my baby bump make it's debut at Megan's apartment complex's pool over the weekend! I decided if I could fit into a non-maternity bathing suit, I was going to do it and I did. So my baby bump and I got into a two piece bathing suit.

AND I have a picture to prove it.

I got a little sun and my shoulders got a little burnt, but 2 days at the pool was wonderful!

and now you have a picture of my baby belly at 28 weeks and 2 days!

hope all of you have a blessed week!

Love!

28 weeks and 1 day!

So I'm 28 weeks!

Here's what I hear is going on with MG from my weekly pregnancy update:

As the Big Day nears, your baby is getting ready to go towards the light at the end of the tunnel (the tunnel being the birth canal, the light being the one the doctor is shining directly into it so she can see what the heck she's doing). Other highlights this week:

Your baby's eyes are partially open now and can blink. Truly superior babies can actually wink. (OK, there is no way to prove that, but it's fun to imagine, no?) Your baby can also now become a shiny, happy person as she has begun having rapid eye movement (Get it? REM? Shiny, happy person?? We'll be here all week.)

Her eyes have color now, too. It may not be the color she ultimately ends up with, especially if they're light gray or blue. The eyes typically don't settle on a final hue until nine months after baby is born. So when your mother-in-law says that the baby has her eyes, you can politely inform her that they'll most likely change soon. Sorry.

Your babe is downright chubby compared to a few weeks ago. She is about 15 inches long, about the length of an amusement park cinnamon-sugar-coated churro (yum!), and weighs 2 to 3 pounds.
(from www.3dpregnancy.com)

So I've officially decided Molly Grace wants out. This week her kicks and moves are out of control. She wants out and I hate to inform her we have a little over 10 more weeks to go.

I can't wait to meet her and for you to meet her all. I PROMISE i will put up a belly pic beginning of next week.

I'm going to Kennesaw tonight! yay for the weekend and this AMAZING weather. and for being able to wear cute summer clothes. and YAY for May! Which is coming up soon!

My first baby shower is going to be next Friday and I'm so excited to see everyone that comes!

More later! Oh and I got asked today if today was my last day at work, as in am I having the baby next week, because I "just look like I'm about to pop. GREAT. I'm only 28 weeks. I got a few more months to go. uhhh!!!!!

27 weeks!

What's going on with MG at 27 weeks?
Baby's lungs and immune system are maturing this week as baby prepares for his grand entrance. If he were born today he would have an 85 percent chance of surviving as his lungs are capable of breathing air (with medical assistance, of course). Other exciting developments:

Baby's done a lot of growing over the past few months. His length has more than doubled in the past 15 weeks! And that's not the only thing growing—baby's brain tissue and neurons are all developing at a rapid pace. His brain waves are now firing away just like those of a newborn baby. If baby is a he, his testes will have completely descended at this point.

Your baby now weighs in at approximately 14½ inches and just over 2 pounds, or about the size of that roast you made last time your in-laws were in town. (OK, the baby is the size of that roast you meant to cook before you decided that ordering Chinese was a much better idea.)

I love this pregnancy website, the added humor is always nice!

This afternoon I am going to look for houses with Kim and look at baby clothes and I may possibly end up at Babies R US to do a little in store registering, most of what I've done has been online through Babies R Us.

I promised belly pictures and I'll give you one. I haven't taken many but I will post a couple of pregnant Mary Beth pics even though I want to rebel against doing so.

This picture was taken about 2 weeks ago at my cousin David's engagement party, this is my aunt Deanna, isn't she pretty?

well, you got my belly shot!

I haven't heard anything from the doctor about the diabetes test so I'm assuming no news is good news!

things i have learned...

I went to the doctor this morning. I actually enjoy going to the doctor which is bizarre because before I got preggers I absolutely hated going to the doctor, you can ask my parents, my sisters, friends...I'm sure they will all tell you that I truly did hate the doctor and needles. Two fears I have been able to somewhat overcome through this pregnancy.

And a little factual info on the pregnancy:

Total weight gain/loss: 16 pounds (not too bad for 26 weeks, you are supposed to gain a pound a week after 20 weeks or something like that)
Maternity clothes? Yep.
Stretch marks? Nope.
Sleep: you mean, what sleep? I have crazy pregnancy dreams, and this belly I've acquired prevents me from sleeping almost every way possible. The cure I've found: 1 Tylenol PM and LOTS of pillows (still abiding by this)
Best moment this week: hearing her heart beat for the first time in 4 weeks!
Movement: she's still moving all the time, the last few days though, i feel like she's been calmer
Food cravings: none really...i crave salad bars :)
Gender: sweet baby girl
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out? almost all the way out, i wish she would just kick it out and get it over with, my belly button is still grossing me out
What I miss: wearing skinny jeans or jeans in general, regular clothes!
What I am looking forward to: July 15, 2009
Weekly Wisdom: The gestational diabetes test wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, and this got me thinking that nothing is really as bad as it seems, so I'm holdng onto this thought in regards to labor and delivery!
Milestones: nothing too special at the moment

I had the gestational diabetes test today. It really wasn't that bad. The last couple sips are kind of like ok, i'm over drinking this now, but defintitely not as bad as everyone I talked to made it out to be. The worst part was that the lady that was drawing my blood missed the vein the first time and poked me for no reason, and i HATE having blood drawn. But the second time took. The doctor's office told me they would call me if its abnormal so I'll keep you posted.

My belly measured at 25 cm today which is right on target which is good. I had good blood pressure, weight, and MG's heartrate was 130ish beats per minute, which basically means she was just chilling when we got to listen.

Easter was good! I got to see all of my family! I really do have the most amazing family EVER. I spent Friday night with Mom and Meggie, we ate dinner and shopped, had ice cream and watched a movie. I love nights like that. Saturday I drove to Rome and had lunch with Amanda (my bff from hs) and that was awesome! Saturday night I hung out with Meg and Dust! I can't wait for their wedding! Easter morning me, meg, and dusty ate breakfast together and went to church and then after church Dusty and Meg cooked lunch! We had ham, homemade mac n cheese, green beans, baked beans, rolls, tea! yum! And then i had a flat tire. Which was an ordeal, but i'm just happy I wasn't driving when it went flat! Dusty was amazing and changed the tire for me! Amy and I went to my Grandmother's for dinner and it was fun being with that side of the family!

I can't wait for her Molly Grace to get here! I got my pre-registration forms from the hospital today so Athens Regional will be expecting me in July! I think thats all for now! I'll update more later this week!

Love!

26 weeks and 1 day!

This week your baby-to-be opens her eyes for the first time. She'll open and shut her eyes as she gets used to her new ability. Your little one is still on the small side. Her body may look fully formed on the outside, but inside there's fine-tuning taking place, including her lungs and her brain. Your unborn baby still has some growing to do!

How Big Is Baby?
This week your baby's weight hovers around two pounds and her length reaches about nine inches (crown to rump).

So that's a little info about MGT this week.

One of the other pregnancy calendars I read says that she is longer than 9 inches, more like 12-13 and I believe that one over this one according to how big I look!

So, I officially have 13 more weeks to go. Hello, Third Trimester! Its crazy! She's been moving a lot lately.

This week has been pretty good. Monday I was able to go to dinner with my roommates for my roommate Matt's 22nd birthday, which was a lot of fun. Tuesday was AMAZING (after work, work made me want to cry all day, long, boring story). I drove to Atlanta and hung out with Anna and Sarah, Liz, Megan, and Seven! It was so much fun...we went rollerskating and ate sushi. Rollerskating was interesting, I did fall once, but other than that. I must say I did really well for being so preggers.

This weekend I am going to hang out with Mom and Meg tonight, tomorrow lunch with Amanda (friend from HS), and then Easter with Meg and Dusty, and then Grandma's for Easter Dinner with Mom! YAY!

So I go for my diabetes test on Monday, please be praying I pass! Also, I'll be able to hopefully give you a medical update on how mommy and baby are doing!

Happy Easter Everyone!

Oh and I promise to post pics of my baby belly next week.

25 weeks and 3 days...and counting

good morning to anyone who might read this!

like the title says...I'm officially 25 weeks and 3 days today...and not much else is going on.

Molly Grace has been moving alot this morning. I don't think she likes seat belts very much. She went crazy this morning while I was riding back to Athens for work at 7:00 a.m. this morning, thanks to Amy, I got to ride and not drive so I got a few extra minutes of sleep. We even got to listen to The Beatles this morning and I'm pretty sure thats why I am in a good mood today!

Molly Grace got to meet her aunts Sarah and Anna last night. I mean they have seen me pregnant already but this time they got to feel her move! I don't think they expected me to be as pregnant as I am. It was SO GOOD to see them. They pretty much complete me and I am so blessed to call them my best friends. Anna even bought MGT the cutest onesie from Old Navy and got me a dress to match! It's adorable. so THANKS ANN! from both of us! She also found maternity jeans in my size! YAY!

This weekend was really nice. Saturday I had to work for a few hours but it was SO gorgeous outside that I didn't mind at all! I also got an airbrush tan so I'm finally somewhat tan again and I LOVE IT! it's crazy what not being pale can do for your self confidence!

In pregnancy related news, well, I really don't have anything. I really want to work this week on committing to pray for my little one and myself. I know that God will provide and take care of us. Also, I am going in a week from today to have a gestational diabetes test so be praying that I pass! I'll update later this week I'm sure!

I love you all....

always,

Mary Beth and Molly Grace
