My carrot...(also 2 posts in the same day! that never happens)

Yesterday at work I was talking to a coworker about how the time was flying by. I mentioned to her that all I wanted was for it to be 3:30 so I could go play with my baby girl. My coworker replied with "She's your carrot!" And of course, me being the blonde that I am was like "huh, like a rabbit loves carrots?" She then went on to explain to me that it was an old expression that back in the day people would dangle carrots in front of a horse to keep it moving. As I thought about it, she really is "my carrot". She keeps me going, she is the reason I keep on trucking on 0 hours of sleep. I love this expression. And I love that I have been blessed unmeasurably by my little princess. So this post is for you, my precious little carrot! :)

On a lighter note...my little love comes to work with me on Tuesdays and Thursdays and she is sh a good little baby usually. She is such a joy to everyone at the office and they always ask where she is when she isn't at work with me.

This Thursday though my little Sugar Butt decided it would be awesome to poopie on Mommy...I was covered in poop all over my dress, so bad that I had to go home for lunch to change! Thank goodness I don't live far!

Here is a picture of my little love with me at work...what an angel baby sleeping while mommy works hard for the $$!

Bath Time!

I have more pictures!

The first bath I ever gave Molly Grace at home when she came home from the hospital was not the most fun I ever had...she screamed the entire time and I remember thinking to myself that bath time was not going to be a fun thing, but oh has that changed!

My little princess is loving the bath these days and crying when I take her out!

She'll probably kill me later for posting little naked baby pictures of her, but they are too adorable not to share!

Enjoy!

a little smile from the baby bear!

come back and see us soon!

The Nursery

Molly Grace has been sleeping in my room with me in a bassinette since I brought her home from the hospital, but thanks to Sheena, who is letting me use Addison's crib, I now have her room finally put together! This was one of those things that most people get to do waaay before baby arrives, but because of my situation and moving, i just got to wait a little longer to have everything completed! I'm so happy with the results! Thanks to everyone who voted way back when on the bedding....it definitely was a winner! I will leave you with a few pictures!

Here's hoping she will soon learn that she sleeps in her own bed all night and learns that you can sleep 8 hours before having to eat again!

Oh the joys of parenthood!

there is still work to be done, but i love it! now, if only i could get my room to look that good!

New Title...New Life

I apologize to anyone (if there still is anyone left) that reads my blog. I haven't updated in so long! Life has taken the biggest and, excuse my grammar, bestest turn and I have had absolutely no time to blog. Sooo much has been going on. We still do not have cable or internet at the place so I can't blog at home!

Little Miss Molly Grace is 2 months old, actually 10 weeks today! She is soo big and beautiful and such a blessing.

I am now officially a working mom. I went back to work last week, but to a new job. I am now the Program Coordinator for the Barrow County Home Delivered Meals program. It is an exciting and busy job! I am still learning the ropes, but hope to have it mostly figured out pretty soon. I am also working on not missing Molly Grace too much. It is hard to leave her, but at least it is with family, my cousin Jana is doing a wonderful job with her!

Life with little miss is amazing. Everyday it amazes me how much my love for her grows. She has started to smile all the time, and cry less. Her smile literally makes my heart feel happy. I can't imagine life without her. She has grown out of all her newborn clothers, and most 0-3 months clothes. She is wearing 3 month outfits! We went to the doctor on Friday for her 2 month appointment and she weighed 12 pounds, 11 ounces, 23 1/2 inches long! She is in the 90th percentile, which correct me if I'm wrong, means she is above average! I'll take it though, she is so healthy.

These next couple of months are going to be insane. Labor day weekend was the start to the madness. I left MG for 8 hours for the first time that weekend, for Sheena and Lyle's engagment party and then the next day I attended my cosuin David's wedding to his bride Heather. I was able to catch up with alot of my friends that day and it was a beautiful wedding. Also, Molly Grace got to meet some of her mommy's friends from college and even high school as well as meet some of her family!

I am the maid of honor in two weddings in November so the next couple of months will be filled with showers, parties, a weekend at the beach, and probably the spending of alot of money. Anyone got any they want to donate to me? LOL! I am soo excited that my baby sister is marrying Dusty! It is going to be beautiful! Sheena's wedding should be absolutely beautiful too!

Molly Grace is going to be dedicated at a baby dedication at church this upcoming Sunday at Hebron Baptist Church. I am so excited in commiting her life to the Lord and committing mine to raise her in a Godly home as a Godly example to her. My prayer is that she see good and God in all situations. I only hope that she knows how much her mother and her heavenly Father love her.

I will leave you with a few recent photos! Check them all out of facebook! www.facebook.com/marybethtoles!

life with my little one...

SO!

it's been a little while since I updated. As you all know, I moved in to my new house the FRIDAY before Miss Molly Grace graced us with her presence, so we still do not have cable or internet yet, we are trying to see how our bills are going to be. Therefore, I have not been able to update! I could do it on my iphone but it would take forever I'm sure, and I only have two to three hour intervals before my little princess gets hungry again!

I thought I would take this oppurtunity to share a little bit of what July 6, 2009 was like for me, ENJOY! pictures at the end from the big day!

So...Mom and I began the day at 3:45 a.m., we both got up and got dressed and got everything into the car. I thought I would have time to dry my hair, but after I showered with the required body scrub for the surgery (c-section), I was running out of time.

I remember being so calm and anxious and ready as we drove on the Loop in Athens to Athens Regional. I will always remember the full moon that was hanging in the sky as we drove.

We arrived at the hosiptal at 5:02 a.m., (ONLY TWO MINTUES LATE, what a miracle for me :)) and we got straight down to business. I had convinced myself that I would take everything in steps.

First step: Get the I.V....totally not as bad as I thought it was going to be.
Shortly after all the preliminary questions and the I.V. my wonderful family started pouring in....Amy,Anna, Sarah, Mom, Dad, my Grandmother, Megan, Dusty...keep in mind it was like 6 am! I took pictures with everyone and met with the anesthesiologist, and Dr. Sepesi came in to make sure Little Miss was still breech, I started to freak out, I got really sick and pretty sure I freaked everyone else out.

Once I walked out of the room with the nurse to the c-section room, I began to calm down and prepare for step 2.

Step 2: The Spinal, which also was not as bad as I thought it was going to be.
Everyone (all the nurses, doctors, etc.) was sooo nice to me and I felt very at ease.

Those were the only steps I had told myself I had to overcome and I did it and I then I was ready!

My mom came in shortly after and spare all the gross surgery details...Molly Grace was here at 7:58 and I think the surgery started at like 7:30!

It truly was the most amazing feeling seeing her for the first time....I confirmed that she was indeed a girl and exclaimed that she has hair! (Not enough for a bow yet :( but we'll get there) It was amazing.

Recovery on Monday was hard. The anesthesia made me really nauseus and itchy and I was sooo blessed to have so many visitors, but it was a long day and I don't remember much.

so that is a VERY BRIEF look on that day.

I stayed in the hospital until Thursday. I was very blessed with my friends and family who did and continue to do soooo much for me while I was in the hosiptal and now, being at home with the most perfect little girl.

Jump to Now: We are doing well! It's been two weeks TODAY! ahhh..i can't believe it.
She is nursing well and sleeping a lot, during the day mostly, but it is truly amazing what you can do on two hour intervals of sleep...I never knew it was possible. I am having so much fun being a mom and getting to know her. She already is showing me a little of her personality.

She is healthy and growing and that is an answered prayer. She is sooo popular.

We are loving the new house! We are having a housewarming party on August 1st! I plan on making a trip to Rome sometime soon. We go to the pediatrician this Thursday and it will be interesting to see how much weight she has gained since her appt. last Monday, when she weighed 8 pounds, 5 ounces, down from 8 pds. 11 ozs. at birth! She was a big baby but looking at her you really can't tell, she is PERFECT.

And to all the expecting moms out there: INVEST IN MYLICON BEFORE BABY ARRIVES. It is a gas relief medicine and has worked wonders for Molly Grace. There are only few things that make her cry: diaper changes, putting on/taking off clothes, and when her tummy is upset. She doesn't cry when she is hungry, she just gets fussy and her hands go immediately to her mouth.

Her favorite position to be in so far is on my chest, with her head near my heart, butt up and knees to her chest...which coincidentally is the exact same breech position she was in utero. My doctor said that he hadn't seen a breech like that in many years and that there was no way he could have turned her.

This post is soo random...probably because I can't remember the last time I slept for more than 3 hours, haha.

IT IS WORTH IT.

She is truly the best thing that ever happened to me. I love her more than I could have ever imagined.

There really is soo much more I could write about but I'm getting tired and I feel like I might be boring you! Enjoy the pics!

LOVE,

Mary Beth and Molly Grace

signing my life away..

between the pre-op yesterday and signing my lease today on the house, i feel like I have signed my name away to a bazillion different things.

SO FIVE MORE DAYS.

i've almost completely packed the majority of my apt. in Athens (i don't have to move any big furniture from there).

Anna and Sarah will be here Saturday! YAY!

Molly Grace will be here Monday! YAY!

i am definitely 9 months preggers because I am exhausted, huge, and weepy. I don't cry, but I feel like at any moment I could cry.

so yeah, this post is really pointless.

i'm sure i'll update again before the birth! but if I don't...the next update I'll have pictures of my little one!

LOVE!

always,
Mary Beth
